Your New Role: What's Involved?
Studio Aurora, based in the vibrant heart of Dubai, is a leading boutique lighting design consultancy. Committed to crafting unique narratives through illumination, Studio Aurora is dedicated to shaping unforgettable experiences for clients around the world. We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and imaginative Junior Lighting Designer to join our dynamic team.
As an Intermediate Lighting Designer at Studio Aurora, you'll have the unique opportunity to contribute to the design and implementation of progressive lighting solutions for diverse projects globally. Collaborating with experienced professionals in the field, you'll play a vital role in developing your skills and gaining hands-on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conceptual Design: Participate in the creation of innovative lighting concepts and strategies that align with project objectives and client expectations.
- Lighting Analysis: Conduct lighting calculations, simulations, and assessments to optimize lighting designs for efficiency and visual impact.
- Design Development: Work alongside senior lighting designers to develop detailed lighting plans, layouts, and specifications for a variety of projects.
- Fixture Selection: Assist in the selection of appropriate lighting fixtures, controls, and equipment to achieve desired aesthetic and technical outcomes.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including lighting schedules, cut sheets, and technical drawings.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to seamlessly integrate lighting into overall project plans.
- On-Site Support: Provide on-site support during the installation and commissioning of lighting systems to ensure they meet design specifications.
- Research and Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainable lighting practices to contribute innovative ideas to projects.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Lighting Design, or a related field.
- Genuine enthusiasm for lighting design and a strong desire to grow in the field.
- Proficiency in lighting design software (e.g. Photoshop, Dialux, AutoCAD, and basic Revit knowledge).
- Basic understanding of lighting controls and systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
